The Atlantic Paranormal Society

The Atlantic Paranormal Society ( TAPS) is an organization based in Warwick, Rhode Iceland, which reported investigated paranormal activity. It was founded in 1990 by Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson. In 2004, the organization on the subject of the TV series Ghost Hunters, a successful weekly reality television series of the television channel Syfy was.

History and Mission

Hawes founded TAPS in 1990; Originally it was called Rhode Iceland Paranormal Society. Consistent with the former member Donna LaCroix, the team first met on Sunday in a coffee shop. Magazines

TAPS publishes a monthly magazine called TAPS Para Magazine, which includes written by members articles and information about the paranormal. Beginning of July 2006 TAPS began with the publication of podcasts called TAPS Para- Radio with Hawes and Wilson on a sporadic basis.

Beyond Reality Radio

Beyond Reality Radio is a radio talk show with the TAPS founders and Ghost Hunters Jason Hawes and Grant - Stars Wilson. Beyond Reality Radio launched in April 2007 and runs Saturdays 19-22 clock on the radio station WXLM. In the program Jason and Grant chat with guests about the paranormal and give listeners the opportunity to call during the show and join the discussion. The team at Beyond Reality Radio consists of the presenters Grant Wilson and Jason Hawes, the producer Amy Bruni and the studio producer Dave Gardiner. In early 2007 TAPS described herself as a non- profit organization. Because of potential liability problems because of the inaccuracy of the description, the organization now describes as a free, voluntary organization.

Video game

On 1 December 2007, published TAPS a video game in conjunction with Star Mountain Studios called Apparitions. Available to both PC and Mac, claims TAPS co-founder Grant Wilson that this game is just the start of greater efforts in the interactive media world of TAPS in the future be, although until then no other interactive media have emerged and the game has not achieved the sales target.

Methods

TAPS sends a group of three to six members to an eight to twelve hours long investigation into one or more nights to perform. This night vision, digital video and thermal imaging cameras, EMF detectors, digital thermometers and other equipment are used. The members often find natural explanations for the described activities. When finished, the team will present the results and express their opinion on whether it investigated place " haunted " or not.
