Gibbs (crater)

Gibbs is an impact crater on the eastern limb of the Moon front, northeast of the crater Humboldt and southeast of Ansgarius. The rim is moderately eroded, uneven inside. Due to a strike at the northeastern edge of the crater is a small ray system with a center of high albedo has emerged.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1964 by the American physicist Josiah Willard Gibbs.
