Gibsonville is a town in the U.S. state of North Carolina, in the United States and is located in Alamance and Guilford County. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 4,372 in an area of 6.1 km ². The population density is 716 per km ².

In place 1,822 residential units were recorded. Among the population was 80.2 % White, 15.5% African American, 0.4% American Indian, 0.8 % Asian and 1.7 % of other ethnic groups; 1.4 % reported belonging to several ethnic groups.
