Gilberto Santa Rosa

Gilberto Santa Rosa ( born August 21, 1962 in Carolina, Puerto Rico), also known as El caballero de la salsa (Spanish for The Gentleman of Salsa ), is a salsa and bolero music.

Life

Gilberto Santa Rosa was born in 1962 in the city of Carolina to the north of Puerto Rico. He received his education and found his interest in music. As a teenager, he took part in his first concert in 1976 and made as a background singer from the Mario Ortiz Orchestra 's first studio recordings. A short time later, he was recruited for the music group La Grande Orchestra as the lead singer. He remained for two years in the band and met Elias Lopes who helped him develop his singing skills, and these formed. He was part of the orchestra Tommy Olivencia, Willie Rosario and El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico, with whom he recorded several albums.

Awards

On 29 September 2008 he was in New Jersey Latin Grammy in the category of salsa for his album contrasts.
