Gilera Runner

The Gilera Runner is a motor scooter from the Italian manufacturer Gilera Piaggio. The runner has been produced since 1997.

Description

The Runner is available in different versions:

  • Runner 50 (50 cc two-stroke )
  • Runner FX ( 125 cc two-stroke )
  • Runner FXR (176 cc two-stroke )
  • Runner VX (125 cc four-stroke )
  • Runner VXR ( 180/200 cc four-stroke )

The tank volume is 8.5 l according to the manufacturer for vehicles up to year 1999/2000. The special model DD has a 12 -liter tank. The engine power is transmitted by means of a variator of a centrifugal clutch and a secondary transmission on the rear wheel in the oil bath. Unlike traditional scooters, such as Vespa the runner has a steel tube frame with center tunnel. This design gives the vehicle a high rigidity ( torsional ).

The two-strokes are no longer made up to the 50 cc version since 2003. In 2005, the design of the runner has been revised.

Runner 50

The Runner 50 differs between the carburetor model Gilera Runner 50 SP and the Einspritzermodell Gilera Runner 50 PJ. The moped, made in Italy, travels with a water-cooled two-stroke engine with a displacement of 49 cc. The engine is the Piaggio Hi -Per 2 Pro. The speed limit varies from country to country. In Germany it is since 2002 at 45 km / h
