Gilli Smyth

Gilli Smyth ( born June 1, 1933, London) is an English musician ( rap ) and author. With Daevid Allen, she founded the band Gong, later she had her own band "Mother Gong " and " Mother matrices ". She has published several books and produced several albums of their bands. During her time at Gong she sometimes used the pen name Shakti Yoni.

Biography

After her college years in London, his first book in 1966 and a brief marriage with a child Smyth went to Paris, where she gave lectures at the Sorbonne. She learned to know Daevid Allen, who was in 1967 with the band Soft Machine in France on tour. When Allen was refused due to visa problems, the return trip to England, the two founded the band Gong. Smyth wrote lyrics for the band, which they recited above speech at performances in "Space Whisper". In 1969 the first album of the group.
