Gioacchino Vitagliano

Gioacchino Vitagliano (* 1669 in Palermo, † April 27, 1739 ) was an Italian sculptor of the Baroque in Sicily.

Gioacchino not only created marble sculptures, but also stucco figures, was probably trained in the workshop of Giacomo Serpotta (1656-1732), whose daughter he married and whose designs he implemented frequently.

The sculptor Niccolo and Vincenzo Vitagliano Vitigliano are probably sons of Gioacchino. From the latter, the marble sculpture of Santa Rosalia (1744 ) comes to the forecourt of the Cathedral of Palermo.
