Giovanni Battista Borra

Giovanni Battista Borra (* December 27 1712 in Dogliani, † November 1786 in Turin ) was an Italian artist and architect.

Borra studied from 1733 to 1736 in Turin with the architect Bernardo Vittone Antonio. 1750 to 1753 he accompanied Robert Wood and James Dawkins on their trip to the Orient and made on their behalf, inter alia, the drawings on the publications of the ruins of Palmyra and Baalbek. After his return, he worked as an architect in England, where he among other things, Designs for the house and the park of Stowe House and the Music room of Norfolk House in London (now in the Victoria and Albert Museum ) designed. Later he worked in Italy again.
