Giovanni Battista Orsini

Fra ' Giovanni Battista Orsini ( Jean- Baptiste des Ursins, Johannes Baptista de Ursinis, Baptista Ursinus; unknown *, † June 8, 1476 in Rhodes ) was an Italian nobleman and March 4, 1467 to his death in the 39th Grand Master Order of St. John. Previously, he was from 1442 to 1466 Grand Prior of the Grand Priory of Rome of the Order.

Around 1470 he left the Feraklos fortress on Rhodes get ready again to guard against a feared attack by the Ottomans. This took place under his successor d' Aubusson.
