Giovanni Calabria

Giovanni Calabria ( born October 8, 1873 in Verona, Italy, † December 4, 1954 there ), was an Italian priest and founder of the order. He is venerated as a saint in the Catholic Church.

Life

Giovanni founded sequentially as separate communities, the Poor Servants of Divine Providence and the Poor Servants of Divine Providence (it.: Poveri Servi of Divine Providence or Poveri Serve of Divine Providence, Latin: Congregation Pauperum servorum Divinae Providentiae ) ( Order code: PSDP ). He sat down sacrificially one for the poor and disadvantaged of society.

Giovanni Calabria was called by Pope John Paul II April 17, 1988 blessed and canonized on 18 April 1999. His feast day in the liturgy is the 4th of December.
