Giovanni Pichler

Giovanni Pichler ( born January 10, 1734 Naples, † January 25, 1791 in Rome ) was a German - Italian gem engraver.

He was the son of Anton Pichler and brother of Luigi Pichler, formed under his father and after the Antique and cut in the 15th year of a Hercules fighting the Nemean lion, which excited general admiration. His gems, both deepens as cut sublime, are of excellent purity and sharpness. He also worked in the field of pastel painting.
