Gippsland Falcons

The Gippsland Falcons Soccer Club was an Australian football club based in Morwell, Australia. The club played from 1992 until the dissolution in 2001 in the National Soccer League. The club was known as the Morwell Falcons and Eastern Pride.

History

The club was founded in 1961 by Italian immigrants. The renamed in Morwell Falcons in 1963 club played the first years in the La Trobe soccer league. In the 70 years of the Club in the Victorian Premier League was included. In 1984, the first time was followed by winning the Victorian Premier League. Five years later succeeded in winning the title, the Falcons were characterized against West Adelaide SC, the winner of the South Australian State League in two games for the promotion to the National Soccer League game. After two defeats, the rise was initially missed. In 1992 the club was eventually incorporated into the National Soccer League. In the following years in the National Soccer League, the Falcons were able to celebrate more success and won the Dockerty Cup in 1994, their only Cup. In the same year the final round was just missed. In 1995, the Falcons were the first to qualify for the playoffs, but were subject to significantly against South Melbourne FC. In 1996 the club was renamed in Gippsland Falcons. In the last five years the club's history the team fell short of their possibilities and placed each in the lower ranks. The club was officially dissolved in 2001.
