The Giro live Ballers Osnabrueck are a former German basketball team from Osnabrück, which played at the withdrawal of the authorization Game 2011 in the Pro A.

History

The Giro live Ballers had an independent association with a playing in the Pro A men's team. Responsible for the implementation of gaming operations and marketing was the Ballers Sports Marketing GmbH. Main sponsor and namesake was the Sparkasse Osnabrück with their own brand GiroLive.

The Ballers wanted to build on past successes in the Osnabrück basketball and in the medium term aim for promotion to the National Basketball League. For this, the infrastructure has been significantly improved for the season 2010/2011 season. With its own Kikxxlarena that meets the requirements of the Pro A, there are training and playing opportunities and in addition also a VIP area, VIP boxes, a gastro and Fan Mile and the office with tickets and fan shop.

With the beginning of 2011 it was announced that the ballers who are struggling with major financial problems. March 2011 finally insolvency proceedings have been initiated. The Ballers was then withdrawn from the league, the game license and the ballers stopped the game operation. All results to date have been canceled. While it was still trying to find investors for a game start in the Pro B, but also failed this and abruptly ended the professional basketball in Osnabrück.

The two former managing director of the Giro live Ballers Osnabrück 2013 were each sentenced to suspended prison sentences, because at times the social security contributions of salaried basketball players were not or only paid late.
