Life and work

Sartorio was 1667-1685 Bauverwalter in the service of Hanoverian Duke Ernst August. During his time in Hanover significant construction projects to beautify the city were made under his direction or involvement. He was instrumental in the expansion of the Royal Gardens. He was involved in the expansion of the linen castle, where he included the little theater and adorned with decorations.

The castle bridge over the line was probably built according to his plans.

During his stay in Hanover, he wrote at the request of Leibniz, who was then working as a librarian in Wolfenbüttel, a report for the construction of a library. 1692/93 he worked in Leipzig, where he established the first opera of the city at Leipziger Brühl.
