Gisèle Lestrange

Gisèle Lestrange ( born March 19, 1927 in Paris, † December 9, 1991 ibid ), actually Gisèle de l' Estrange, married Celan - Lestrange, was a French illustrator and graphic designer.

Gisèle Lestrange came from a noble family. She was a student at the Académie Julian from 1945 to 1949 as well as the studio Fried lands of 1954 until 1957. Since 1964, she worked as a graphic designer for Lacourière - Frélaut in Paris. Among other works, she created illustrations for the books of famous poets.

From December 21, 1952 she was married to Paul Celan, from 1967 they lived in separate apartments. They had two children, Francois, who died in 1953 soon after birth, and the 1955 -born Eric Celan.
