Gitte Aaen ( born November 7, 1981 in Frederikshavn, Denmark) is a Danish handball player.

Aaen began five years playing handball. The winger played before they moved to Viborg HK 2006, at Strandby / Elling IF, FFI, Sindal IF and Fox Team Nord. With Viborg Aaen won the 2008, 2009 and 2010 the championship and in 2006, 2007 and 2008 the trophy. 2009 and 2010, they triumphed with Viborg in the EHF Champions League. For the 2010/11 season she wanted to go to the top Austrian club Hypo Niederösterreich Austria. However, the contract did not materialize. Then she became an amateur to the Danish first division side FC Midtjylland. In October 2010, Aaen joined Randers HK. After winning the championship in 2012 Aaen ended her career as a professional handball player. Since then she works as a nurse in Viborg and plays the unterklassigen handball club Søndermarken IK.

Aaen has 38 caps for the Danish women's handball national contest in which they scored 101 hits. With Denmark she won at the 2008 European Championships in Macedonia eleventh place.
