Giuseppe Wilson

Joseph " Giuseppe " Wilson ( born October 27, 1945 in Darlington, England ) is a retired Italian footballer. Born as the son of an Englishman and an Italian in the north of England, his family moved shortly after his birth to Italy, where he played almost his entire football career.

Giuseppe Wilson began his professional career with Cirio and played from 1965 to 1969 for Interna Poli. Then he moved from Naples to Rome and played for Lazio 1969-1979 296 games, where he scored 4 goals. In 1972 he went with Lazio from the second division to the first division in the following season the team finished in third place. In 1974 the center-back with Lazio to the Italian championship, the first ever in the history of the club. He denied three times by Italy in 1974, two of them at the World Cup as a substitute against Argentina (1-1) and against Poland (1:2). With Luciano Re Cecconi and Giorgio Chinaglia included two other players in the reigning champions of the Italian World Cup squad in 1974. During the following years the fourth place in 1975 and fifth place were 1977, the best rankings Lazio in the first division. His career ended in 1979 Wilson New York Cosmos.
