Give Up the Ghost (originally American Nightmare ) was a hardcore band from Boston, Massachusetts, USA.

Band History

Give Up the Ghost was founded in 1998 by Tim Cossar, Wesley Eisold, Azy Relph and Jessey Van Diest under the name American Nightmare. In 1999, the band brought out a demo recording with four titles, which led to the band from the label Bridge Nine Records was signed. The debut album was released under the name American Nightmare in 2000. According to an extensive tour and changes in the cast, the band brought out in 2001, their second album The Sun Is not Getting Any Brighter.

The album Background Music, which was produced by Equal Vision Records, was released in 2001. In 2003, the band had to deal with a dispute about her name.
