GKS Katowice is a Polish ice hockey team from Katowice, which was founded in 1964. The sports club of the same name belonging Hockey Division has been playing derr 2013/14 season again in the Playoff Final.
History
The Hockey Department of GKS Katowice was founded in 1920 as an independent association under the name Gornik Katowice, before it was connected in 1964 by a merger club GKS Katowice. The team was mainly from the late 1950s to the early 1970s, to the best teams in the Playoff Final, when the team six times won the Polish championship in 13 years. In the 2004/05 season the team got down to the second class I league. In 2013 she was able to return to the top division.
