Glenn Shadix

William Glenn Shadix ( born April 15, 1952 in Bessemer, Alabama; † 7 September 2010 in Birmingham, Alabama) was an American film actor.

Life

Shadix began his career in the 1970s as a theater actor. After Shadix was director Tim Burton noticed the mid-1980s into a stage play in which he the writer Gertrude Stein embodied in a "Rock " role, he was engaged this as performers for the horror comedy Beetlejuice in which Shadix the eccentric, always dressed in black Real Estate Agents Otho embodied. This film gave Shadix breakthrough as an actor.

Shadix was often due to his impressive baritone voice, his obesity and his ability to overact in a convincing manner, cast. Among his film credits include Heathers, Dunston - alone in the hotel and Demolition Man. There are also numerous roles as a voice actor for animated productions such as the series Teen Titans.

With Tim Burton, he worked throughout his career together several more times, so as voice actors for the stop-motion film, The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993 ) and for the Stainboy web series ( 2000). Even on the computer game sequel, The Nightmare Before Christmas: Oogie 's Revenge (2004) he was involved. In TV Special In the Director 's Chair: The Man Who Invented Edward Scissorhands (1990 ) Shadix embodied in a fictitious biographical review of Burton's childhood, a menacing clown. In Planet of the Apes ( 2001) he played a decadent orangutan Senator.

Shadix lived openly homosexual. After a serious illness Shadix had to be laid in April 2000, a gastric bypass, which led to a weight loss of about 50 kilograms. On the morning of 7 September 2010, now confined to a wheelchair Glenn Shadix crashed heavily and died as a result of head injuries he had sustained it.
