Glenside is (2000) 7914 inhabitants, is a census-designated place in Montgomery County in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. He is one of the townships Abington and Cheltenham
In the city the Arcadia University, on whose campus the National Historic Landmark Grey Towers Castle is located.
Geography
The train station of Glenside is served by regional trains of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority ( SEPTA ). He is a stopover for the line 's R2 Warminster, R5 line after Doylestown and eastern end of the line R1 to the Philadelphia airport.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the area of Glenside 1.3 square miles (3.3 km ² ), which account for all of it land.

At the time of the census of 2000, there were 7914 people Glenside. The population density was 2406 persons per km ². There were 3181 housing units at an average 967.1 per km ². The population of Glenside consisted of 88.97 % White, 6.66 % African American, 0.10 % Native American, 3.02% Asian, 0.03 % Pacific Islander, 0.27 % reported other to belong to races and 0.96 % from two or more races. 1.44 % of the population to be Hispanic or Latino of any race.
