Glina (river)

The Glina at Maljevac to the Bosnian border

The Glina ( Serbo-Croatian for " clay / clay " ) is a right tributary of the River Kupa in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia. In a section northeast of Velika Kladuša it forms the border between the two countries.

The river rises near the village of Gornji Kremen in the community Slunj (Croatia) and initially runs in a north- north-westerly direction, before turning to the east. There the Glina forms for a few miles the boundary between the counties of Karlovac and Sisak- Moslavina before she meets on Maljevac on the Bosnian border.

The Glina is then pumped through a narrow valley south of the Petrova Gora. Here she takes the Glinica also its largest tributary. Just before the town of Glina the valley opens up and is also used agriculturally from here.

Located just west of Slana (municipality Petrinja ) opens the Glina is 100 km in the Kupa. It is not navigable along its entire length.
