Globin
Globins are oxygen transport or binding proteins that occur in all living things. A key feature is the cofactor, which is always one of the hemes.
Globins are divided into several large groups that hemoglobins (Hb ) and myoglobin ( Mb) in vertebrates, the globins of invertebrates that Leghämoglobine and others in plants and the Flavohämoproteine ( FHb ) in bacteria and fungi. Developed away from these main groups have individual protein groups such as the hemoglobins of the protozoa, Cyanoglobine in cyanobacteria and the globins of Algenchloroplasten and mycobacteria.
