Gloryhammer

Glory Hammer is an international power metal band that was founded by the keyboardist and singer of Scottish Pirate Metal band Alestorm, Christopher Bowes. The first album Tales from the Kingdom of Fife was first published on March 29, 2013 by Napalm Records. The band members each embody a character of the concept story that is told with this album.

History

Glory Hammer was born in 2009 as a project idea during a tour of the British band Alestorm and Sorcerer 's Spell. After the search had taken for a suitable singer for several years time, Christopher Bowes mid-2011 was an internet video on the front man of the Swiss heavy metal band Emerald, Thomas Winkler, attentive. After this, due to other commitments turned down the offer at first, he decided to join the end of the same year, the band as a permanent vocalist after a further request from Bowes.

After Glory Hammer had met for a first photo session in London in early 2012, the band boarded in mid-2012, the " LSD -Tonstudio " by producer Lasse Lammert in Lübeck, who had already worked for Alestorm. Another meeting of the band came in early 2013 in Berlin, where she recorded under the direction of Oliver Sommer (AVA Studios) a music video for their first single Angus McFife.

On March 29, 2013, the debut album was released under the label Napalm Records, which is titled Tales from the Kingdom of Fife. This refers to the content of the song lyrics that tell the story of the ( fictional ) Scottish Crown Prince Angus McFife. According to statement of the band 's founder Christopher Bowes, the concept more than 21 albums to extend.

Glory Hammer played their first festival performance on the main stage of the Metal Days Festival 2013 ( formerly Metal Camp ), to which also occurred Genre priming as King Diamond, Iced Earth or Sonata Arctica.

Style

The style of Glory Hammer is influenced by the power metal in the late 1990s, with the band oriented approximately to the early works of Luca Turilli 's Rhapsody. Others see their music parallels to Blind Guardian and Dragonforce. The vocals are strong, multi-faceted and clear and is referred to by various reviewers as groundbreaking for the genre, the structure of the songs is mostly classical verse form, the lyrics tell a fantasy story, which is located in medieval Scotland.
