Gmina Wałcz

The Gmina Wałcz (municipality German crown) is a rural municipality ( gmina wiejska ) in the southeastern Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship, on the border with Greater Poland Voivodeship. Headquarters of the municipality is the city Wałcz ( German crown), not belonging to the community itself. In a community area of ​​575.09 km ² land Wałcz community is the largest community in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship. The rural municipality has 12,686 inhabitants Wałcz ( June 30, 2013).

Until 1998 it was the Pila Voivodeship belongs.

Geography

The Gmina Wałcz consists of numerous lakes areas of Pojezierze Walęcki ( German Kroner Lake District ) and is crossed by many large and small rivers, including Dobrzyca ( Doberitz ) Piława ( Pilow ) Piławka ( Pilow flow ), Świerczyniec ( Fuhlbeck ).

The municipality is located in the northeast of the powiat Walęcki, which is itself in the northeast of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship. Neighboring municipalities are:

Road

The rural community Wałcz located near the crossing of two national and three provincial roads:

  • Country road 22: Kostrzyn nad Odra ( Kuestrin ) / Germany - Grzechotki / Russia ( former National Highway 1 of Aachen Berlin - Königsberg ( Prussia ) to Eydtkuhnen )
  • Voivodeship 163: Kolobrzeg ( Kolberg) - Wałcz ( former National Highway 124 for the same route )
  • Voivodeship 178: Wałcz - Oborniki ( Obornik )
  • Voivodeship 179: Pila ( Pila ) - Rusinowo ( Ruschendorf ).

Rail transport

By 1945, met in German crown four railway lines, one of which is today by the Polish State Railways (PKP ) is still served:

  • Line 403: Pila - Ulikowo ( Schneidemühl - Wulkow )

The line 416 Wałcz - Wierzchowo ( German crown - Virchow ) was terminated in 1992.
