Gnaeus Egnatius was a politician of the Roman Republic in the 2nd century BC

Life

Egnatius Gnaeus was the son of not known Gaius Egnatius. He was in the mid 140s BC praetor and proconsul of the incorporated straight into the Roman Empire province of Macedonia. Built Egnatius named after him Via Egnatia, a road that connected the Bosporus to the Adriatic coast and was 535 miles long. His name appears on several milestones. In addition Egnatius is mentioned in a roughly contemporary Senate resolution.
