Gnome Foundation

The Gnome Foundation is a nonprofit organization whose mission is the goal of the Gnome project - to create a desktop environment and development platform for the general public, completely free software - to support.

To this end, the Gnome Foundation organized the release of new versions of Gnome and decides which projects are part of Gnome. Furthermore, the association is responsible for communication with the media and with organizations that are interested in Gnome.

The association consists of the members (GNOME Membership ), the staff at the Gnome project. The members elect annually a Board (Board of Directors ) from their own ranks. The Board consists of seven members and holds a weekly conference call for the organization of the daily business of the Gnome Foundation, and the Gnome project from.
