Gods River

BW

The River Gods (english God 's River ) is a river in the north of the Canadian province of Manitoba. He springs from Gods Lake and empties into the Hayes River. Along the river course settle the Indian communities of Gods River and Shamattawa. Occasionally it is also used by fishing tourists.

The Gods River flows in a large Ostbogen from south to north across the Canadian Shield with many rapids, river islands and several waterfalls such as Sturgeon Falls, and Big Bear Falls. In the Shallow tundra south of the Hudson Bay, the Gods River combined with the much smaller Hayes River, but the further course bears the name of Hayes, which goes back to its historical importance as a trade route of the Hudson's Bay Company. In Shamattawa opens the Echoing River from the right with the Gods River.
