Goldschmidt (crater)

Goldschmidt is an impact crater on the moon in the north of the Moon front page. The rim is relatively heavily eroded and the western part is covered by the younger crater Anaxagoras.

The crater was named in 1935 by the IAU by the German - French astronomer Hermann Goldschmidt.
