Golina

Golina [ gɔ'ljina ] ( German 1940-1945 Gohlen ) is a town in Poland in the Greater Poland Voivodeship in powiat Koniński.

History

The settlement Golina has been known since the 14th century. Municipal law received the settlement 1330. 1362 a city charter was confirmed. At the Second Partition of Poland in 1793, the city was part of Prussia. With the formation of the Duchy of Warsaw in 1807 Golina was the same part and 1815 part of the newly formed Congress Poland. In 1857 it was connected to the railway network. 1870 lost the place to be right city and got it back only after the First World War in 1921. During the Second World War the town was occupied in September 1939 by the Germans. On 17-18. July 1940, the Jews of the city after Zagórów, and were deported to the ghettos of the villages Grodziec and Rzgów. The occupation lasted until 1945. Subsequently, the city became part of Poland again.

The main attraction of the village is the wooden church of James the younger ones, which was built in 1765-1767.

Traffic

Golina is located on the regional road 92 ( droga Krajowa 92). To the west, this leads to about 15 kilometers through Słupca, in an easterly direction for about six kilometers through Konin. Furthermore, the voivodship road begins in Golina 467 ( droga wojewódzka 467 ). This runs in a southerly direction and crosses this after about seven kilometers, the Autostrada A2 with the driveway Sługocin.

The nearest international airport is Lawica, which lies about 90 kilometers to the west.
