The Gomti (Hindi: गोमती Gomti [ ɡo ː mti ː ]; Gumti or Gomati also ) is a river in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
The 805 km long river has its source in the district Pilibhit Uttar Pradesh in the north, flows south-east through the Gangetic Plain and flows south of Saidpur in Ghazipur district in the Ganges. On the banks of the Gomti are the cities of Lucknow and Jaunpur. Due to large industries and tanneries in the catchment area of the river Gomti is very dirty.
