The Goodwin Steel Castings Limited is a heavy engineering company based in Stoke -on-Trent, Staffordshire, England. The company specializes in the production of large, custom, machined steel castings.

History

Since 1883, Goodwin Steel Castings supplies machined castings. The foundry employs 180 employees and is cooperating in the machining, fabrication and installation of castings produced here with her five kilometers distant sister company Goodwin International Ltd.. In the equipped with modern CNC machines Goodwin factory building about 270 people are employed.

As a company of Goodwin PLC technology group Goodwin Steel Castings Ltd.. the main manufacturer of high-alloy high-quality castings in the UK.

Since its foundation in 1883 the company has been working in the foundry industry. It is among the 10 oldest companies listed on the London Stock Exchange companies.

1984 Goodwin was BS5750 (now ISO 9001) certified the computer simulation of the charge according to the first steel foundry in the world by the British Standards Institution for the foundry production as well. In 2006, the company's Queen's Award for International Trade received.

Competencies

Has specialized in the business of castings for suppliers of the industrial sectors of mechanical engineering, nuclear, oil, petrochemical and process industries around the world.

Materials provided include carbon steel, low alloy and stainless steel, heat resistant steel, duplex and super duplex stainless steel and superalloys based on nickel.

The package includes one-piece machined castings from 200 to 10,000 kg, and makes up to 18,000 kg. In addition, welded assemblies can be supplied up to 50,000 kg.

Steel and nickel alloys are melted in an electric arc furnace and can be processed in the AOD process.
