Gorampa

Gorampa Sonam Sengge (Tib. go rams pa bsod nams seng ge; * 1429, † 1489 ) was a master of the Sakya school of Tibetan Buddhism. He is the author of an extensive collection of sutra and tantra comments. In 1473 he founded the monastery Thubten Namgyal Ling ( rnam rgyal gling thub bstan in today's circle Namling Shigatse in Tibet. He was the sixth throne holder of Ngor Monastery (Ch: E'er si Fatai鄂 尔 寺 法 台), the founding monastery the Ngor tradition ( ngor pa), one of the three main schools of the Sakya tradition.
