Goran Kartalija

Goran Kartalija (born 17 January 1966 in Kljajićevo ) is an Austrian footballer of Serbian origin.

He currently plays for SC St. Valentin in the first class in the afternoon.

Club career

Kartalija came in the season 1991/1992 from the former Yugoslavia to Austria to Wiener Sport - Club.

In the following season 1992/1993 he moved to Upper Austria to LASK where he became one of the strongest libero in the league.

National

Under coach Herbert Prohaska came Kartalija on 27 June 1996 to his national team debut in a friendly match against Switzerland. This was followed by another friendly against the Czech Republic and two qualifying matches for the 1998 World Cup against Latvia and Slovenia.

Overall, he completed four caps for the Austrian national team.
