Gordon is a village in Darke County in the U.S. state of Ohio in the United States with 190 inhabitants (as of 2000).

History

Gordon was first measured in 1849 and named after one of the first settlers. Gordon was on a hub of the " Dayton and Union Railroad " and the " Ohio Valley Electric Railway " railway lines.

Demography

According to the census of 2000, there were 190 people in 74 households, and 58 families. The population density was 188.2 inhabitants per km ². The racial the population was composed of 100 % white population.

Of the 74 households out of which 40.5 % have children under the age of 18 living with them. 67.6 % were married couples living together, 6.8 % had a female householder with no husband, and 21.6% were non-families. 17.6 % of all households are made up and 4.1% had someone living alone at the age of 65 years or over only. The average household size was 2.57 and the average family size was 2.93.

In relation to the entire town the population was spread out with 29.5 % under the age of 18, 4.2 % from 18 to 24, 38.4 % between 25 and 44 years, 22.6% between 45 and 64 years and 5.3% were 65 years old or older. The average age was 34 years. For every 100 females there were 102.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were statistically 103.0 males.
