Gordon Zahn

Gordon C. Zahn ( born August 7, 1918 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, † December 9, 2007 in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin) was an American sociologist.

Life

Gordon C. Zahn received his doctorate in 1952 at the Catholic University and was from 1953 to 1967 professor of sociology at Loyola University Chicago. From 1967 to 1980 he was at the University of Massachusetts Boston. He was president of the American Catholic Sociological Society in 1968. He was a founder of Pax Christi in the USA.

In German-speaking Gordon C. Zahn is best known for his biography of the Austrian conscientious objector Franz Jägerstätter. Based on the book Axel Corti filmed the movie "The case Jägerstätter ".

For a long time in Alzheimer diseased tooth died in December 2007.
