Gorgany

The Gorgani (Ukrainian Ґорґани ) is a mountain range in western Ukraine.

It is located in the Outer Eastern Carpathians, includes north to the Chornohora and the highest elevations are the Sywulja (1836 meters), the Ihrowyschtsche, the Wyssoka and Grofa.

Typical of the existing Flyschsandstein Mountains from the extensive rubble fields ( Gorgan or Grechot called ). They are bounded on the east by the river Misunka and Wyschkowskyj Pass and in the west by the Prut and the Jablunyzkyj Pass. The Gorgani is one of the most thinly populated regions of Ukraine, living in the West part of the people of Boyko, who deal with grazing and logging.

Larger towns of the area are Worochta and Yaremche.
