Gornji Slaveči

Gornji Slaveči (Hungarian Felsőcsalogány ) is a village in the municipality of Kuzma in Slovenia.

Geography

The scattered village has about 500 inhabitants and is distributed partially on the Talung of Lukaj creek with a small center around the parish church and the groups of houses on the mountain slopes. An oddity of the place is the hall called " Gaza ", which only occurs here, as Kliničeva Gaza, Hubrova Gaza, Kiselakova Gaza, Mlinarjeva Gasa Gasa and Bracova. The village district is used exclusively agricultural and forestry. The beginning of the 20th century still strongly driven viticulture has virtually disappeared, vineyards are processed only as a hobby and for their own use. In the near vicinity of the farmstead Benko earth derive certain natural mineral water sources that are not economically recycled.

The village is the seat of an evangelical rectory. The Protestant church building was erected in 1928 and inside 1938 painted by the painter Cmerekar from Veržej / Wernsee. The church organ, a work of art of the organ builder Anton Jenko from Ljubljana / Laibach, dates from the year 1987. The parsonage next to the church was completed in September 1981.

History

The place is called, first documented in 1365 as " Felseueche ". A year later, 1366 is stated: " Felsozaloucha in dystrictu Waralyakurniky ". The settlement that is no longer in the field of rule Dobra ( Neuhaus am Klausbach ) but already belonged to the dominion Felsölendva ( Oberlimbach, today degrees). In 1499 the village Felsewzalocha is called and in a protocol of the Diocese of Gyor / Raab is for the year 1698, the place name Fölsö Szlavecsa documented.

In 1890, the village is officially designated Felsöcsalogány and had 528 inhabitants, of whom 508 declared themselves as Slovenes, as 16 German and 4 as Hungary. The place belonged to the district Muraszombat (now Murska Sobota ) of Vas County / iron castle.

The Peace Treaty of Trianon struck the village to the Kingdom of SHS. For the city is now officially called Gornja Sloveča 1921 following data were recorded in the census on 31 January found: 643 Slovenes, 2 German, 2 Hungary, 4 persons of other ethnic groups; of these 651 residents known to 247 and 404 to the Catholic to the Protestant faith.

In the census of 1931 647 inhabitants were calculated, in 1961 there were 541 and for 1971 the following figures are available: 547 inhabitants, 114 houses, 118 households and 452 villagers who live exclusively on agricultural income.
