GorÅ Miyazaki
Gorō Miyazaki (Japanese宫 崎 吾 朗, Gorō Miyazaki, born January 21, 1967 in Tokyo) is, as well as his world-renowned father Hayao Miyazaki, a Japanese anime director.
Originally, he refused to follow his father's footsteps in the entertainment business and decided instead to realize itself in landscaping. Only after producer Toshio Suzuki managed to persuade him to work on the Ghibli Museum, ultimately also began a collaboration with Studio Ghibli.
As the planning for Anime adaptation of Ursula K. Le Guin's Earthsea started giving him the storyboards was offered to draw for the film. After work seen Suzuki decided that Gorō should also lead directed the film.
This decision led to a personal crisis between Gorō and his father. Although he was able to hold for five weeks at No. 1 on the Japanese box office, Miyazaki received end of 2006, Japan 's Bunshun Rasberry Award for " Worst Director ", his film also won the award for " Worst Movie." 2007 again was nominated for "Best Animated Film " Tales from Earthsea for the Japan Academy Award in the category.
His next film Kokurikozaka kara, an adaptation of the eponymous shōjo manga by Chizuru Takahashi and Tetsuro Sayama in 1980, ran in Japanese theaters in summer 2011. The film was awarded at the 2012 Tokyo Anime Awards for Animation of the Year and as the best film made.
