The Göschberg, formerly called Geßberg, is a 620.6 m above sea level. NN high hill of the Franconian Alb in the municipalities of Seubersdorf and Deining in the Upper Palatinate district of Neumarkt, Bavaria ( Germany ).

Geographical Location

The Göschberg between Seubersdorf in the east-southeast and Pirkach, a municipality part of Deining in the west; its dome belongs to the municipality of Seubersdorf. Over the hill is the boundary of the Southern and Middle Franconian Alb.

Landscape and geology

The Göschberg and surrounding mountains, some of which exceed the 600 -meter contour line, are densely forested and agriculturally used. Through the forest cover, which is already listed on the oldest maps, the mountain looks pretty uniform, but this is deceptive. It is divided by numerous rich herausgewitterte rock barrier, many depressions and valleys. Rock groups, which go back to sponge growth in the reef zones of the former Jurassic sea, 're at and around the Göschberg.

In a dispute to Holzmarkstrasse rights of the mountain was in 1452 still mentioned as Geßberg.

Telecommunications tower Seubersdorf

At the top of Göschbergs as it is on the Dillberg because of its good location, a highly visible communications tower. The telecommunications tower Seubersdorf is a 128 m high concrete tower ( tower type ) and radiates a private radio programs; on the frequency 94.0 MHz Radio Charivari, Regensburg is sent with 1 kW output power. Even mobile phone antennas are located on its mast.
