Gosho Aoyama

Gosho Aoyama (Japanese青山 刚 昌, Aoyama Gosho, born June 21, 1963 in Daiei (now Hokuei ), Tottori Prefecture) is a Japanese manga artist.

His first manga, titled Chotto Mattete (ちょ と まっ て て) he published in 1986. Among his most important works include Yaiba, Kaito Kid and Detective Conan. Especially latter series, which now has 82 manga volumes, 720 anime episodes and 18 movies brought Aoyama major international fame and economic success: he was, for example, in 2000, ranked the third most deserving Japanese individuals and in 2001 sixth, 2004, he was next to Rumiko Takahashi of the most deserving mangaka.

For Yaiba he received in 1993 the 38th Shogakukan Manga Award in the category " children" and for Detective Conan 2001 the 46th Shogakukan Manga Award in the shōnen category.

Gosho Aoyama operates next to the drawing of Manga also kendo and baseball. He is not only football, but also a great crime fan, especially of the Sherlock Holmes novels, whose characters and motives, it can often be incorporated into the action of Detective Conan.

On May 5, 2005, he married Minami Takayama, singer of Japanese pop group Two-Mix and anime voice actress that synchronizes among others, the main character Conan Edogawa in the anime Detective Conan. On 10 December 2007 Japanese newspapers reported that they have divorced.

In June 2006, Aoyama, at the invitation of Egmont Manga and Anime to Comic Salon Erlangen.
