Goswin van der Weyden

Goossen van der Weyden ( * ca 1465 in Brussels; † after 1538) was a Dutch painter.

Life

Goossen van der Weyden was a grandson of Rogier van der Weyden. Pieter van der Weyden (* 1437, † after 1514), son of Roger's father and Goossens had the Brussels workshop of Rogier inherited in 1464. Goossen probably worked in his father's workshop until 1492, when he moved to Lier, where he painted the organ doors from Sint Gummaruskerk. He led a successful workshop in Lier and acquired in 1498 is already a big house.
