Gotarzes I of Parthia

Gotarzes I was a Parthian king, who reigned from about 91-80 BC. He came into the turmoil at the end of the reign of Mithridates II to power. Little is known about his person and his reign. He appears in astronomical records from Babylon, which shows that he ruled this city and probably Babylonia itself. In addition, he is mostly known from his coins. From cuneiform texts his sister and wife Ashibatu is known.
