Göte Almqvist

Gothenburg Augustin Almqvist ( born June 25, 1921 in Skellefteå, † December 21, 1994 ) was a Swedish professional ice hockey player.

Career

At club level, Gothenburg Almqvist played exclusively for his hometown club Skellefteå AIK. From 1949 to 1960, he joined with his team in Division 1, the then highest Swedish league, at.

Internationally

For Sweden, Almqvist participated in the Olympic Winter Games in 1952 partly in Oslo, where he won the bronze medal with his team. As the best European team Sweden was also European champion. In addition, he was in his country's squad at the World Championships in 1953 and 1954. During the 1953 World Cup, he won the gold medal with Sweden and was also with his country European champions.
