Göttchesbach

The Göttchesbach, alternatively referred to as Göttgesbach and in the upper reaches of the castle Bach is a stream in Bonn. It has a length of 4.9 km.

Course

The Göttchesbach arises as a castle creek south of the lodge Kottenforst in the Bonn district Röttgen and flows from north. The creek crosses mostly forest area, but also loosened settlement area and agriculturally used land. South of Ückesdorf takes the waters left side of the Olligsbach on and then changes his name in Göttchesbach.

The creek eventually flows south of the geodetic practice field of the university in the Katzenloch Bach. The mouth is located as well as the source just inside the bird sanctuary and the FFH area forest reserve Kottenforst with forest Ville which includes the nature reserve Katzenlochbachtal with.

The Göttchesbach overcomes during its flow path a height difference of 69 meters, thus results in an average bed slope of 14.1 ‰.

Characteristics

The water is generally as -natural, meandering stream and rich in structure within a forest. However, in the upper reaches it is also in parts straightened and there has no bach accompanying riparian woodlands. In the upper reaches of the stream also dries out temporarily.
