Gottlieb Jakob Kuhn

Gottlieb Jakob Kuhn ( born October 16, 1775 in Bern, † July 23, 1849 in Burgdorf BE) was a Swiss priest and poet folk songs.

From 1799 to 1806 he was vicar in Sigriswil, from 1804 to 1810 he edited the Bernese lame messengers and 1806 teachers in Bern. Along with Johann Rudolf Wyss and Ludwig Meisner he founded in 1811 the ethnographic almanac alpine roses.

1812 became pastor in 1824 and changed Rüderswil the town church Burgdorf.

Among his best-known songs include The chamois hunter, Ha em to place it Blüemeli gseh and Oh how churzen üsi days.
