Government Gazette of South Africa

The Government Gazette ( Afrikaans: Staatskoerant ), short- often just called Gazette is the official printed communication organ of the Republic of South Africa. It is published by the government of the country under this name since 1961. The precursor appeared with the name Union of South Africa government gazette.

The Government Gazette is the official statement of the law adopted by the Parliament, the explanations of the presidential office and all ministries. The essential information is here proclaimed laws, proclamations, declarations or policy papers, as well as matters of professional registrations, land restitution, licenses and approvals.

The industrial production of the Gazette is in the hands of the State Printing Office ( Government Printing Works - GPW ) in Pretoria. From this point, the distribution of which appeared in the last three years copies done. Older issues of the Government Gazette provided by the National Library of South Africa ( National Library of South Africa ) are available.
