The GSAPS Faculty is located on the main campus of Waseda University, Nishi- Waseda, Shinjuku district, Tokyo, Japan.

Cooperating institutions

GSAPS There is a regular exchange of teaching and research with its partner institutions, including the London School of Economics, the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, National University of Singapore, Seoul National University and Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok. Within the framework of Erasmus Mundus GSAPS leads a joint doctoral program through which and in cooperation with the Universete Libre de Bruxelles in Belgium, the University of Warwick in the UK, the Libera Universita Internazionale degli Studi sociali in Italy, the Université de Genève in Switzerland Fudan University in China engaged in the globalization, the European Union as well as issues of multilateralism.

GSAPS is a affiliiertes member of the Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs ( Apisa ), a network of leading schools in the field of international relations and political science.

Teaching and research

The focus of teaching and research are in the East and Southeast Asian area studies, international relations and the study of international cooperation and Politik.Der the calendar of the school is divided into four sections, with courses from May to July (spring), August (summer ), from September to January (autumn) and February (winter) are offered both in english and in japanese.

Students

To May 1, 2011 studied 427 students at the GSAPS. Of these, 283 were Master students and 144 PhD students. 69.6 % of the graduate students came from abroad, 30.4% from Japan. The GSAPS Student Association (GSA ), the official student representatives of the faculty, organizes regular social, academic and career- related events.
