Graeme Connors

Graeme Connors (*? Mackay, Queensland ) is an Australian country musician and songwriter. He is in Australia known for his hits A Little Further North and Let The Canefields Burn. During his music career Conners produced fourteen albums and received, among other fourteen times Golden Guitar Award among many significant Australian country music awards. He wrote the poem for the Paralympic Anthem and performed at the opening ceremony of the Paralympic Games in 2000 in Sydney. He was recently awarded for the album Still Walking as album of the year 2011 at the Tamworth Country Music Festival.

He also wrote the lyrics for the song Boomerang in Paradise on the early socialist colony of New Australia, the Australians in Paraguay, founded in 1893.

Early career

Graeme began his music career in the mid-1970s as a vocal accompaniment for performances by Kris Kristofferson and the band Sherbet. Probably his first album, And When Morning Comes.

During the late 1970s until the late 1980s, Connors lyrics wrote big hits for Slim Dusty, John Denver and Jon English were.

The Eighties

Connors wrote in the first half of the 1980s songs that were based on truck out and hits for Slim Dusty were. Such examples are I'm Married To My Bulldog Mack and Current Line Dreams.

In 1988, Conners the single A Little Further North, released as his first album under the label of the North Australian ABC Records, then followed the singles Let The Canefields Burn, Cyclone Season, Sicilian Born and "A Heartache ( Or Two). North " was one of the best-selling album of Australian country music of all time.
