Graeme Pollock

Graeme Pollock Robert ( born February 27, 1944 in Durban, Natal, South Africa) is a former South African cricketer. He is considered the best South African cricket player of all time.

Life

Pollock comes from a famous family of cricketers. His father, his uncle, his brother, but also his two sons and a nephew ( Shaun Pollock ) have either played first-class cricket in or even Test cricket for South Africa.

He himself played since 1960 deadline -class cricket for Eastern Province. At the age of 19 he made ​​his debut for South Africa against Australia. Pollock's international career ended just seven years later after only 23 test matches because of the international sports boycott against the its policy of apartheid. National he played up until the end of the season 1986/1987 for Eastern Province and Transvaal.

Statistically, Pollock 's second best batsman of all time after Sir Donald Bradman, stylistically he is considered the best left-handed batsman.
